Global Commercial & Legal Director – £110k-£130k + up to 30% Bonus – Home Based with Occasional European travel – PR000865
We are working with a growing global software business who to date have had no dedicated commercial support. As they have grown substantially over the last couple of years their contracts have become progressively more complex and varied. To date the contracts have been negotiated by senior management with support from finance and external lawyers. They have reached the conclusion that it’s no longer sustainable to negotiate and manage contracts in this way and they need a dedicated full time Commercial & Legal Director to sit in the senior management team and develop and grow the function.
Roles like this don’t come along often, this is a chance to join an already very successful business and bring to bear all your experience of Commercial & Legal to help them better manage risk, drive margin from existing contracts and ensure new deals are profitable. Your remit will be broad, you will be responsible for all contracts of strategic importance. The core focus will be customer facing contracts but will also include several materially important supplier contracts too.
To be successful in this role you will need to have experience of all facets of commercial and contract management. You will enjoy balancing your time between tactical day to day deal negotiations and contract mark ups as well as more long-term strategic projects. You will be responsible for implementing processes, standards of best practice and identifying and implementing IT and tech solutions which can support the function. You will need significant experience in the software sector and ideally have worked with a global reach previously.
You will be responsible to driving change and will be a lynchpin linking disparate parts of the business so your stakeholder skills will be excellent. You will be comfortable operating independently with no oversight.
