Subcontract Manager – (CR/007207)

Location: North Devon

Role Type: Hybrid – 3 days per week on site

Salary: up to £450 – £500 per day, inside IR35

Contract Duration: 6 month initial contract

Arguile are working with a well-established defence engineering organisation supporting complex, high-value programmes, who are looking to bring in a Subcontract Management professional to join their team.

This role plays a key part in managing the commercial and contractual performance of critical suppliers across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting the end-to-end management of subcontracts, from RFQ through to contract award and ongoing governance
• Drafting and managing Statements of Work in collaboration with project and technical teams
• Leading commercial negotiations to deliver best value whilst minimising programme risk
• Monitoring subcontractor performance against key milestones and supporting programme reporting
• Managing change control, contract compliance, and commercial risk across suppliers
• Acting as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external subcontractors

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in subcontract management, commercial management, or procurement contract management within engineering/defence environments
• Strong understanding of contract structures, terms & conditions, and commercial risk
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and lead negotiations
• Comfortable working in a project-driven environment with tight deadlines
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, defence or electronics environments would be advantageous.
