An established, market-leading organisation operating within the construction and infrastructure environment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial leadership team.
This opportunity offers genuine commercial ownership. You will operate as a Business Partner to operational and project teams, driving financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring robust contract governance across a portfolio of installation and service projects.
This role is suited to a commercially astute professional who enjoys influencing outcomes, leading negotiations, and improving processes — not simply maintaining them.
The Role:
Reporting into senior commercial leadership, you will take responsibility for the full post-contract commercial lifecycle from award through to final account closure.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead the negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of customer and subcontractor contracts.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met by all parties and actively manage compliance.
- Issue and manage contractual notices in line with contract requirements.
- Lead the preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Oversee subcontract procurement, appointment, and account management.
- Manage and resolve commercial disputes, claims, and variations in a proactive and strategic manner.
- Protect and enhance project margin through robust commercial governance.
Financial Performance & Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities, maintaining a live risk and opportunity register.
- Lead cost value reconciliation (CVR) processes and financial reviews.
- Ensure effective cash flow management and timely debt recovery.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimise financial outcomes.
- Provide commercial insight and analysis to support operational decision-making.
Business Partnering & Leadership
- Act as a strategic commercial advisor to project managers and operational leaders.
- Challenge assumptions and drive improved commercial discipline across teams.
- Support the delivery of business strategy through sustainable financial performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within commercial systems and processes.
- Ensure consistent application of governance, authority levels, and organisational standards.
- Provide accurate and timely data to support audits and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Experience
- Proven track record in Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead roles.
- Experience managing multiple high-value projects concurrently.
- Background in construction, building services, infrastructure, or maintenance environments.
- Significant experience in post-contract commercial management.
- Strong exposure to subcontract management and procurement.
- Experience operating within structured governance frameworks.
Qualifications
- BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Professional membership (or working towards) desirable.
- Additional training in dispute resolution or contract law advantageous.
