Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing defence organisation operating within a complex, project-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial professional to step into a leadership role, managing high-value contracts and supporting the successful delivery of critical programmes.

The Role

As Commercial Contracts Manager, you will lead and support a team of Commercial/Contracts professionals while playing a key role in the negotiation, management, and delivery of complex contractual agreements. You will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed and opportunities maximised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Commercial professionals
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies for high-value contracts
  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Provide commercial guidance across the full contract lifecycle (bid to delivery)
  • Interpret customer requirements and align them with business objectives
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Oversee contract performance and ensure obligations are met
  • Manage contract changes and ensure financial commitments are achieved
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, finance, and engineering

About You

  • Proven experience in a Commercial or Contracts Management role
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members
  • Strong background in negotiating complex contracts
  • Ability to manage risk and provide sound commercial judgement
  • Experience working within regulated, engineering, manufacturing, defence, or similarly complex environments is desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
