Travel to Manchester area/ London once a week

Our client, an international services business, currently have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to manage a portfolio of key customer accounts. They have a well established function in the UK and offer fantastic development and progression opportunities for commercial professionals. You will be responsible for the commercial management of some of the most significant existing accounts in the Group, as well as having the opportunity to lead the commercial negotiation of new business with both new and existing clients. You will be responsible for leading contract negotiations for deals across multiple market sectors within the company and include supply chain management as well as customer facing work.

 

The role:

  • Identify the risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements; ensure these are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates any potential impact.
  • Reviewing, drafting, updating and maintaining contract documents
  • Monitoring and reporting performance and compliance against contractual obligations including commercial performance, financial management and contract management
  • Monitoring customer satisfaction
  • Working with the contract delivery teams to ensure that the management of change request process and change implementation is carried out in line with the contracts.
  • Reporting on progress of change requests and projects
  • Reviewing contract performance, assessing commercial risks and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to manage the risk
  • Preventing and resolving contractual disputes
  • Assuring adherence to Group Commercial Policy
  • Supporting the client engagement teams in all commercial aspects, post contract signature, to achieve the orders, profit and cash budget and overall management of the Client relationship.
  • Support the delivery streams who are responsible for the delivery of projects and provide clear direction working with the client engagement team.

 

The person:

  • Experience of working in a pre-signature environment.
  • Experience of Drafting and negotiating commercial terms and conditions (independent of legal)
  • Sector experience is not essential.
  • Experience of negotiation with blue chip or large public-sector clients.
  • NB: this is not a sales role
