We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading organisation delivering complex Facilities Management and Infrastructure services across a high-profile portfolio of contracts.
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple contracts, working closely with senior leadership to drive commercial performance, maximise profitability and manage contractual risk.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring strong commercial governance, supporting operational teams, managing client relationships and identifying opportunities to improve contract performance.
You’ll be responsible for leading commercial strategy, overseeing contract compliance, managing change and variations, and providing commercial guidance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of a portfolio of major contracts.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise contract performance.
- Manage contract variations, change control and commercial negotiations.
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risk.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead dispute resolution and contractual claims where required.
- Produce commercial reporting, forecasts and cost/value analysis.
- Support financial performance, profit improvement and cash management.
- Ensure robust commercial governance and contractual compliance.
- Mentor and support commercial team members.
About You
You’ll have strong commercial management experience within Facilities Management, Infrastructure or Construction and be confident managing complex contracts from both a strategic and operational perspective.
You’ll ideally have:
- Extensive commercial and contract management experience.
- Strong understanding of UK contract law and commercial principles.
- Experience managing NEC, JCT or PFI contracts.
- Excellent commercial negotiation skills.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Experience managing contractual risk and change.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and clients.
- Degree qualified (Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Law, Business or similar) or equivalent experience.
- Professional membership (RICS, CICES, CIOB or similar) would be advantageous.
