Senior Commercial Manager Up to 80k + package London/ hybrid PR 000751
Do you love doing deals? There aren’t many new business pre-signature roles in Commercial but this is just that. We are working with one of the biggest Services companies in the sector, they have a huge pipeline of well qualified business and need several deal makers to get the right deals over the line. This role sits in a well established commercial function, a team of high achievers and enjoys a huge level of autonomy.
You will typically join a deal at RFP stage. You will work with finance, legal, technical, and other key business functions to pull together the contract to support the bid. Fundamentally the risk/reward call sits with you, so you need high level view of each part of the contract and a deep understanding of the interdependencies between each section of the contract. You will lead contract negotiations with the customer and advise/build consensus with your senior management on how to proceed with the bid at each stage. Our client pride themselves on their flexibility and commercial creativity, you will be expected to think laterally and come up with the best contracting model, not the simplest. At the point of signature you will hand over to the delivery team and then move onto the next deal.
You will have a track record of being the lead commercial negotiator on large complex deals, probably in IT, defence or infrastructure services. You will have a grounding in legal or finance before moving into a broader contract negotiation role. You will be as interested managing risk as you are in driving the best margin, this is not a sales role. You will have exceptional stakeholder skills and superb attention to detail. You will have drafted T&Cs (e.g Warranties, indemnities, Liabilities). You will be able to demonstrate a track record of structuring different types of deals including; JV’s, SPV’s, gain share and complex prime/subcontractor relationships
