The Opportunity

We’re supporting a leading, innovation-driven organisation operating across complex, high-value projects to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, leading contract negotiations, and supporting major bids within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

This position offers exposure to large-scale, technically complex programmes and the chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

The Role

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of commercial and contractual activities across a portfolio of projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust commercial governance, manage risk, and drive successful business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading commercial input into bids and proposals for large, complex opportunities
  • Negotiating contracts and contract amendments with customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Developing and implementing negotiation strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks and liabilities
  • Supporting project teams with commercial guidance throughout the lifecycle
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and contractual frameworks
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required

About You

You’ll be a commercially astute professional with a strong background in contract management and negotiation within complex environments.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in commercial or contract management roles
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Possesses excellent commercial and financial acumen
  • Can confidently manage risk and translate strategy into practical solutions
  • Is comfortable working on high-value, complex bids and contracts
  • Has experience working with multiple stakeholders across business functions
  • Brings resilience and the ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure situations

Desirable:

  • Professional qualifications (e.g. WorldCC, CIPS, contract management certifications)
  • Experience within regulated or project-based industries
