The Opportunity
We’re supporting a leading, innovation-driven organisation operating across complex, high-value projects to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, leading contract negotiations, and supporting major bids within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
This position offers exposure to large-scale, technically complex programmes and the chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
The Role
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of commercial and contractual activities across a portfolio of projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust commercial governance, manage risk, and drive successful business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading commercial input into bids and proposals for large, complex opportunities
- Negotiating contracts and contract amendments with customers, partners, and suppliers
- Developing and implementing negotiation strategies aligned with business objectives
- Identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial risks and liabilities
- Supporting project teams with commercial guidance throughout the lifecycle
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and contractual frameworks
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members where required
About You
You’ll be a commercially astute professional with a strong background in contract management and negotiation within complex environments.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience in commercial or contract management roles
- Demonstrates strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Possesses excellent commercial and financial acumen
- Can confidently manage risk and translate strategy into practical solutions
- Is comfortable working on high-value, complex bids and contracts
- Has experience working with multiple stakeholders across business functions
- Brings resilience and the ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
Desirable:
- Professional qualifications (e.g. WorldCC, CIPS, contract management certifications)
- Experience within regulated or project-based industries
