Job description
This role is responsible for the delivery of responsibilities of the client’s supply chain including Commercial’s strategy and vision by collaborating with both the business areas under this role’s responsibilities as well as the Sourcing and the Policy and Operations Divisions within Commercial.
You will lead a team sized appropriately for the business area of which you are responsible. As part of the role, you may be asked to grow the role and team and maintain a strong demand vs capacity position.
You will be responsible for:
- Liaising with peers in the business areas and the other parts of Commercial, to agree your teams support of the split of responsibilities (depending on the level of commercial maturity of that business area) and ensure the business areas are trained according to their role as Contract Owners or otherwise.
- Influencing stakeholders in the business areas to promote and implement the internal procurement policy and supplier management standards developed by the Commercial Policy and Supplier Management teams
- Assisting with the development of long-term category strategies to meet the long-term objectives o
- Assuring the delivery of the pipeline of work agreed with the business areas, including all procurement exercises, developing the markets as needed, and realising value
- Helping to maintain the multi-year procurement pipeline of work to ensure the team can deliver effectively
- Managing the continued development of commercial competencies across the business areas in your category through regular engagement and formal training, and aligning commercial and subject-matter expertise
- Manage any supplier dispute processes or complex negotiations
- Be accountable for Gold suppliers as well as any cross tower (e.g. Framework) suppliers within your business area, working closely with the Relationship Owners within the Business areas.
- Promoting and managing the support of effective contract and supplier management, helping to implement the Bank-wide framework developed by the Supplier Management team, tailoring it to recognise the commercial capability of each business area
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
- Consistent and significant proven track record of managing a complex set of suppliers and stakeholders to achieve Commercial optimisation across a timeline. Delivering innovative commercial solutions through the application of strategic planning techniques
- Experience of PCR-level public procurement, including using public-sector frameworks
- Experience of working in a client-focused environment on whole project life cycles
- Experience of supplier and/or contract management (post-contract award)

About the Role
This role is central to supporting the EMEA legal operations of a major division specialising in facilities management and project services. Reporting directly to the General Counsel for EMEA, you’ll be involved in the entire lifecycle of complex commercial contracts, particularly under global Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and their local implementations.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on a wide range of commercial contracts, from bidding through negotiation to execution.
- Draft and review Local Country Agreements (LCAs), ensuring compliance with local legal requirements.
- Advise on legal issues across EMEA, working closely with internal stakeholders, local counsel, and operational teams.
- Lead or support legal aspects of contract negotiations, including pricing, service levels, and governance.
- Provide risk analysis, escalate concerns as needed, and proactively communicate relevant legal updates.
- Deliver legal training and contribute to internal knowledge development.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE.
- Solid experience in commercial and contract law, ideally across multiple EMEA jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex commercial agreements.
- Comfortable advising on data protection issues and legal matters in dynamic, international settings.
Desired Skills & Attributes
- Experience working in-house with a multinational organisation.
- Knowledge of TUPE/Acquired Rights Directive and facilities management contracts.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Our client, an international services business, currently have an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to manage a portfolio of key customer accounts. They have a well established function in the UK and offer fantastic development and progression opportunities for commercial professionals. If you are ready for the next step up and feeling frustrated you can’t progress in your current business, this is the role for you. They have big growth plans for their US function this year.
You will be responsible for the commercial management of some of the most significant existing accounts in the Group, as well as having the opportunity to lead the commercial negotiation of new business with both new and existing clients. You will be responsible for leading contract negotiations for deals across multiple market sectors within the company and include supply chain management as well as customer facing work.
The role:
- Identify the risks, liabilities and commitments of contractual agreements; ensure these are clearly understood and that the business fully appreciates any potential impact.
- Reviewing, drafting, updating and maintaining contract documents
- Monitoring and reporting performance and compliance against contractual obligations including commercial performance, financial management and contract management
- Monitoring customer satisfaction
- Working with the contract delivery teams to ensure that the management of change request process and change implementation is carried out in line with the contracts.
- Reporting on progress of change requests and projects
- Reviewing contract performance, assessing commercial risks and ensuring appropriate steps are taken to manage the risk
- Preventing and resolving contractual disputes
- Assuring adherence to Group Commercial Policy
- Supporting the client engagement teams in all commercial aspects, post contract signature, to achieve the orders, profit and cash budget and overall management of the Client relationship.
- Support the delivery streams who are responsible for the delivery of projects and provide clear direction working with the client engagement team.
The person:
- Experience of working in a pre-signature environment.
- Experience of Drafting and negotiating commercial terms and conditions (independent of legal)
- Sector experience is not essential.
- Experience of negotiation with blue chip or large public-sector clients.
