Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our team supporting a major secure government client. This high-impact role sits within our commercial function, providing strategic and operational leadership across all contract and commercial management activities for a sensitive, high-value government account.

This is a remote-based position, with the expectation to attend the client site in Gloucestershire one day per week to engage with key stakeholders and support governance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all contract and commercial management activity for the secure government account.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including variations, renewals, extensions, and change control.
  • Ensure contract compliance and robust governance aligned with company policy and customer requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a range of contractual documentation, including T&Cs, NDAs, MoUs, and subcontracts.
  • Provide expert commercial guidance to internal teams, identifying and mitigating contractual and commercial risks.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the trusted commercial advisor for senior government stakeholders.
  • Support bids, proposals, and change initiatives to enhance commercial outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain close collaboration with legal, finance, procurement, and delivery teams.
  • Ensure adherence to public sector procurement frameworks, policies, and regulations.

Skills & Experience Required

  • DV (Developed Vetting) clearance – essential.
  • Proven track record in contract and commercial management within secure government, defence, or wider public sector environments.
  • Experience working for an IT, technology, or outsourcing services provider.
  • Deep understanding of contract law, risk management, and commercial negotiation principles.
  • Familiarity with Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks and public sector contracting practices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and governance discipline.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Law, Business, or related discipline (CIPS/ICM qualifications desirable)
